So, I'm working on J's sweater, finished the body and am working on the sleeve. Since the sleeve is done in the same pattern as the body, with the all-over snowflakes, I find that the increase part of the sleeve where there's only a partial and increasing snowflake looks really un-Knitter-ly. It's giving me a brain cramp to think of a way to fix this. Any suggestions? When I look ahead in the pattern, I can just see it getting worse and worse...

What would you do?

Would it work to have a plain band of the dark blue and only add the white snowflake when you have enough stitches for it? Or...if you don't want to keep having blue boxes until you hit the sleeve width, can you just do a simple bwbwbwb (blue/white/etc) checkerboard until you have enough stitches? I'm surprised the pattern doesn't tell you what to do- that's a pretty big oversight!
